A land just waiting to be discovered
At the end of the 1990s the winery invested in the Sagrantino di Montefalco territory a prestigious Umbrian designation.
The Cecchi family soon recognised the combination of the Sagrantino grape variety and the favoured terroir of this grape, its unique expression and the social and cultural roots of local viticulture.
Unlike the other Tuscan estates, which are formed into a single vineyard, Tenuta Alzatura has three different vineyards in three different areas, Monterone, San Marco and Alzatura.
A magical atmosphere carpeted with russet leaves
The ideal vantage point to observe a territory where agriculture has always been the principal work carried out by generations of inhabitants.
The soil types, the material used for the plantation and the attention devoted to the various vegetative phases of the vine and subsequently to production, have determined the ideal conditions for the birth of wines of great substance and considerable varietal typicality, Montefalco Sagrantino and Montefalco Rosso.
